Quarantine is one of the most innovative and exciting theatre companies working in the UK today. They tour their work internationally and are best known for staging groundbreaking and often intimate productions which blur the line betwen stage and audience. They work with both experienced performers and people who have never performed before.

Since rebranding the company in 2004 we have gone on to deliver two portfolio brochures and publicity for all of their tours.

  • Brand 01 image 1 [ of 4 ] The logo is based on the internationally recognised flag for a ship in 'quarantine'.
  • Brand 02 image 2 [ of 4 We have developed a unique typographic styling as part of the Quarantine brand identity.
  • Brand 03 image 3 [ of 4 ]

The Quarantine brand looks as fresh today as it did when it was designed six years ago.

The brand centres around a number of key elements – a strong logo, a bold colour palette and a distinctive typographic style.

The logo is based on the international signal flag used when a ship entering a port is in quarantine. This informs the colour palette which combines yellow, black and shades of grey. All typography is set justified in a serif font. Paragraphs run continuously and alternately sit on a white or yellow background.

The combination of all these elements ensure that whatever the project Quarantine present a distinct and highly recognisable visual style.

We’ve produced two portfolio brochures for Quarantine to date – each very different from the other but both utilising unusual formats which are easily updated by the client.

The first is A5 sized and contains a number of loose leaf pages bound to a 6 page wraparound cover using nickel binding screws. The second is a series of square postcards wrapped in manilla paper and sealed with a sticker.

Both brochures are personalised to the recipient and the square brochures are individually signed by the print finisher who hand collated them.

  • Tour Publicity 01 image 1 [ of 4 ] Publicity consisted of: A5 flyers, various sized posters and e-flyers.
  • Tour Publicity 02 image 2 [ of 4 ]
  • Tour Publicity 03 image 3 [ of 4 ]
  • Tour Publicity 04 image 4 [ of 4 ]

Quarantine’s tour publicity relies on strong art-directed photography combined with the key branding elements.

Featured here are a selection of flyers and posters from some recent tours.
